About PRP/PRF for Face

The human body has incredibly powerful self-healing mechanisms. When you’re injured, for example, the body increases blood flow to the injured site, and the growth factors within the blood stimulate blood clot formation and collagen production, helping you heal. But as you grow older, your body’s ability to heal skin damages is compromised. We performed the unique PRP/ PRF treatment to stimulate natural healing and reverse the signs of aging on your face, helping you achieve smooth, even-textured, and flawless facial skin in Tampa.

What is PRP/ PRF for Face?

PRP/ PRF for the face is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that involves using components derived from your blood to facilitate natural healing. Platelet-rich plasmas (PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) are natural components drawn and purified from a small sample of your blood. PRP and PRF contain high concentrations of growth factors, the components responsible for collagen production, skin cell regeneration, blood clot formation, and more. When injected into targeted areas on the face, PRP and PRF injections improve overall skin tone, texture, and complexion.

How Does PRP/ PRF
for Face Work?

The human blood consists of red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, and platelets. The platelets contain growth factors that can heal wounds and stimulate collagen production. PRP/ PRF for the face involves drawing a small sample of the blood, isolating the PRP or PRF via a centrifuge, and injecting them into the areas of the skin with acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, and textural irregularities. The growth factors facilitate collagen and elastin production, which, in turn, makes your facial skin look smoother and younger.

PRP vs. PRF: Which is Better?

Both PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) contain a high concentration of growth factor-rich platelets, making them incredibly beneficial in reversing the signs of aging. But PRF may contain more platelets and growth factors than PRP, and they also contain additional stem cells, which can produce even better results. Both PRP and PRF improve your facial skin texture and quality, but PRF might produce superior results. Your cosmetic provider will select the ideal technique for your specific needs and goals.

Your In-Office PRP/ PRF Treatment

PRP/ PRF for the face is performed as a simple 3-step process. The cosmetic provider draws a small sample of your blood from the arm via a syringe, and places the blood sample in a centrifuge. Your blood sample is spun to isolate the PRPs or PRFs, which will rise to the top of the vial. The serum is drawn into a syringe and carefully injected into the targeted areas on the facial skin. The entire procedure concludes within 30 to 45 minutes.
